The preferences for Refract in v. 2.1 and later:
The number of significant digits displayed outside user-entered areas can be set. This is mainly of interest for seeing the calculated values in the Data Windows.
Use Uncertainties on Data will display error bars in the Data Windows and any uncertainties entered will be displayed on the Plot Window.
The number of the first geophone can be set in the bottommost edit field. Successive geophones are numbered from this.
You can choose how you want to see and edit model parameters in the Model Window through the set of radio buttons (v1.1 and later):
Which view you prefer depends on the problem you are trying to solve.
An advanced option is to use a reduction velocity in plotting travel times in the Plot Window. Time in the Plot Window is replaced with (time- distance/reduction velocity). This is discussed in more detail on the Reduction Velocity page.
The Maximum number of undos (v2.1 and later) controls how many past operations are saved. Setting this to zero will disable the undo/redo function and can speed up Refract somewhat.
